Parks and East Walcot Community Forum is organising a demonstration at Cavendish Square on Saturday June 22nd at 10 a.m. The Forum is calling on the Council to accept its responsibility for resolving the long-standing problems. As you can see from these photos the square is prone to flooding as a result of the absence of drainage. The developer was intending to build a roof over the square so it did not bother to put in drainage. They then sold it on to the Local Shopping REIT. They subsequently sold it on to the current owners, Lytton Rd Ltd, shown at Companies house as a “dormant” company. I’ll post a briefing which explains the history of this failed regeneration in due course.
